Hello Bollywood party people!

A taste of what you're in for...

In case you want to know what your ticket buys you...here you go. It's a clip of his show in Paris, courtesy of YouTube.com, courtesy of the guy or girl who posted it (thanks, yaar!)

Bally Sagoo tickets now on sale!

Buy your tickets now for Bally Sagoo before they sell out. You can get them here.

If you only get to see one deejay in D.C. this year, this is the one that you ABSOLUTELY CANNOT AFFORD TO MISS!

I'm sure anyone who is taking the time to read this blog (thank you by the way!) is already familiar with Bally Sagoo's work. But just in case, Bally Sagoo is a British DJ with Indian roots who is considered a pioneer of fusing Western and Desi beats.

Did you love the Bend it Like Beckham soundtrack? What about Monsoon Wedding? You can thank Bally Sagoo for that.

Seriously the guy has his one D.J. school--not kidding!

So don't miss this concert!!

Show 'em how you roll and go VIP! You get to meet and take pictures with Bally Sagoo.

Bollywood karaoke: It was, in fact, the time to disco.

Thanks to everyone who came out to our second Bollywood karaoke night. Everyone had a great time as there was lot of shaking it on the dance floor and singing along to recent Bollywood hits as well as some tried-and-true classics.

Alex and Anubhav were amazing, stellar hosts. Their energy was contagious! Their own rendition of "It's the Time to Disco" was a smash hit too (A friend of mine who is not a Bollywood fan but just a good, supportive buddy emailed to tell me that song is "catchier than an Abba tune" and is now permanently ingrained in her head. I e-mailed her back the mP3).

As you know--or at least know now--we hold our karaoke nights the third Friday of each month, so this month's landed on August 15. Now I know you know what that is--India's 61st Independence Day. So...we had to do a little something. We asked a few trivia questions that tied in Independence Day to Bollywood movies. I asked around and everyone said these questions were tough. For example:
Q. Name three movies starring Aamir Khan that highlight India's Independence day movement. (they had to name all three).
But man, did the audience know their [ahem] stuff! I thought this one was particularly hard, but this winner got it right away--without a hint of hesitation. Or, say, google by her side when reading this blog post. :)

Anyway, good times by all. Thanks to Tandoori Nights for letting us hold it there again, hope you guys had fun too. Oh and of course thanks to Asif who was magnificent at keeping the tunes coming and filling in for any guy parts when necessary.

And thanks everyone who came. We want to make this monthly but we need your support!! So spread the word to your friends. :)

Now it's time to concentrate on Bally Sagoo. Believe me--and I say this not just because I am part of the the team here--you do NOT want to miss this concert. The guy has his own DJ school for goodness sakes! :)
